Who needs FOODERA

Four exhibitor profiles and what they actually do here

Manufacturer

Tests a SKU on chain buyers, looks for regional distributors, gets feedback on price and packaging.

Importer and distributor

Builds a brand portfolio: 10–15 new suppliers a day, terms and payment windows discussed on the spot.

Chain buyer

Reviews new products, compares prices, runs supplier meetings in the negotiation area.

HoReCa and catering

Sources products for menus, agrees supply formats and trial batches.

FOODERA is held in Samarkand for a reason: the city is a logistics node of southern Uzbekistan where flows from Tashkent, Bukhara, Karshi and the border regions meet. For a supplier it is three days that replace a season of field trips.

The market is generous and demanding at once: Uzbekistan retail reached UZS 182 trillion in 2024, but shelf space is finite. The one who arrives with a sample, a price and a first delivery date wins.

What is on show

Soft drinks Water, juices, soft drinks, iced tea and coffee, HoReCa syrups: here a buyer compares taste and the logistics of the packaging. Tea and coffee Tea, whole-bean and ground coffee, capsules, instant drinks and accessories — where chain buyers and coffee shops come to source. Grocery Groats, pasta, flour, sugar, salt, spices and dry mixes — the basic shelf a supplier's whole range is judged by. Confectionery and bakery Sweets, chocolate, biscuits, bakery products and long-life bread — the section with the highest share of impulse decisions. Dairy and cheese Milk, cheese, yoghurt, sour cream, butter and milk powder — the section where the cold chain and documents decide the deal. Meat, poultry and eggs Meat, poultry, sausages, deli meats, eggs and prepared foods — the section with the strictest document requirements. Frozen and semi-finished Frozen vegetables, berries, semi-finished products, dough and ready meals: the section for chains, HoReCa and catering. Preserves and canned food Canned food, jams, jarred sauces, preserved vegetables and fruit, pastes — long shelf life and steady demand. Oils, fats and sauces Vegetable oils, fats, margarine, mayonnaise, ketchup and sauces — where the recipe and the price per litre compete. Gastronomic delicacies Delicatessen, nuts, dried fruit, oriental sweets and premium snacks — gift sets and the festive shelf. Organic and healthy food Organic produce, gluten-free and sugar-free lines, sports nutrition — the fastest-growing section of the show. Packaging and equipment Packaging, labels, retail and refrigeration equipment, processing machinery — for those starting or expanding production.
